CAJA OSCURA

Pigment Gallery is pleased to present “Caja Oscura” by the artist OAKY (Damián Pissarra) on the occasion of the new edition of the Lumínic Festival.

The concept behind “Caja Oscura” is a return to the roots, to the very beginning of the medium, in order to merge it with the digital era we currently inhabit.

This project is composed of works resulting from a fusion of pinhole photography, 35mm film, digital photography, and manual intervention through the use of spray paint, various objects, slides, and other techniques such as the rayograph, invented by Man Ray in 1922, which allows images to be created without the use of a camera.

“Caja Oscura” represents a return to the handcrafted processes of the most primitive forms of photography. The result is a series of unique, unrepeatable works that break away from the traditional notion of photography as a medium that can be reproduced infinitely.
