Photo report for Lidové Noviny

In 2014, I carried out the photographic coverage of the Sónar Festival commissioned by Lidové Noviny, one of the leading newspapers in the Czech Republic. The assignment involved documenting both Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night, following a curated list of artists selected by the editorial team.

Over the three days of the festival, I photographed performances by key international figures in electronic and experimental music. On Thursday, the coverage included Ben Frost, Daito Manabe, MØ, Nils Frahm, and Plastikman. On Friday, I documented Bonobo, Caribou, Dengue Dengue Dengue, FM Belfast, Matmos, Richie Hawtin, Röyksopp & Robyn, and Woodkid. On Saturday, the final day, I photographed Clipping., Dam-Funk, Kid Koala, Lykke Li, Massive Attack, and Rudimental.

The project combined live performance and documentary photography, capturing both the intensity of the concerts and the unique atmosphere of the festival.

Lykke Li

En 2014, realicé la cobertura fotográfica del Festival Sónar por encargo del periódico Lidové Noviny, uno de los medios de referencia de la República Checa. El trabajo consistió en documentar tanto Sónar Día como Sónar Noche, siguiendo una agenda curada de artistas seleccionados por el propio medio.

Durante las tres jornadas del festival, fotografié actuaciones de artistas internacionales clave de la electrónica y la música experimental. El jueves documenté los directos de Ben Frost, Daito Manabe, MØ, Nils Frahm y Plastikman. El viernes, la cobertura incluyó a Bonobo, Caribou, Dengue Dengue Dengue, FM Belfast, Matmos, Richie Hawtin, Röyksopp & Robyn y Woodkid. Finalmente, el sábado, registré las actuaciones de Clipping., Dam-Funk, Kid Koala, Lykke Li, Massive Attack y Rudimental.

El proyecto combinó fotografía documental y de directo, capturando tanto la intensidad de los conciertos como la atmósfera única del festival.
