Give me a like is a series of five unique pieces that explore the duality between reality and digital illusion, questioning how social media shapes our perception of the world, our identities, and our emotions.
In this project, Damián Pissarra (Oaky) fuses multiple photographic techniques —35mm analog photography, pinhole processes, physical textures, illustrations on acetate, and digital manipulation— to create a hybrid visual language. Each work is born in the darkroom, where chemical and digital elements merge in an unrepeatable process: altered negatives, layered materials, and manual fusions that make it impossible for two pieces to ever be the same.
The series confronts us with society’s emotional dependence on “likes” —that instant gratification that has become a new social drug. In an age where people pay more attention to their screens than to real life, where virtual validation often matters more than genuine experience, Give me a like exposes how hyperconnection has led us to disconnect from the present, from others, and from ourselves.
Behind the perfect smiles and luminous filters lies a deep loneliness. Many live trapped in a cycle of appearances, projecting happiness through their stories while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, and existential emptiness.

“Give me a like” es una serie de cinco piezas únicas que exploran la dualidad entre la realidad y la ilusión digital, cuestionando la forma en que las redes sociales moldean nuestra percepción del mundo, nuestra identidad y nuestras emociones.
En esta propuesta, Damián Pissarra (Oaky) fusiona múltiples técnicas fotográficas —fotografía analógica en 35mm, procesos estenopeicos, texturas físicas, ilustraciones sobre acetato y manipulación digital— para dar vida a un lenguaje visual híbrido. Cada obra nace en el laboratorio, donde lo químico y lo digital se funden en un proceso irrepetible: negativos intervenidos, capas superpuestas y mezclas materiales que imposibilitan la existencia de dos piezas iguales.
La serie nos confronta con la dependencia emocional hacia los “likes”, esa gratificación inmediata que hoy funciona como una nueva forma de droga social. En un tiempo en que la sociedad mira más la pantalla que el entorno, donde la validación virtual pesa más que la experiencia real, “Give me a like” denuncia cómo la hiperconexión nos ha desconectado del presente, de los otros y de nosotros mismos.
Tras las sonrisas perfectas y los filtros luminosos se esconde una profunda soledad. Muchos viven inmersos en una rutina de apariencias, proyectando felicidad en sus historias mientras enfrentan silenciosamente la angustia, la depresión y el vacío existencial.
